Trimming the Tree

Isn't that what they call it? The girls were so excited to get to decorate for Christmas.. I go all out, I have a TON of decorations, which I basically got from my mom plus my own. The girls felt like they were in "christmas-land" they kept saying. I made hot cocoa and we turned on Christmas music. I LOVE Christmas :)

Thanksgiving 2010!!

We had a great Thanksgiving day. We celebrated this year at Marc & Beccas house. It was a perfect day, good food, funny kids, my parents and of course the Black Friday Ads ;) As with all past Thanksgivings, I can't take any credit for any of the food.. maybe I should learn how to cook something besides rice and pasta? HAHA. Maybe next year!

Orange hair...

Yep. At the school's fall carnival the girls found a booth that was spraying color on the kids hair. So naturally both Claire and Chrissy want to do this too, BUT, they only had one ticket each left. I told Claire to ask the lady how many tickets it was and if it was one, they could do it. Of course I am thinking to myself, haha, it will be more than one ticket. Sure enough. it required 3 tickets. They were both a little bummed, but their attention quickly turned back to their Ice Cream :)
Well, not even 5 minutes later, Claire saw her teacher, and what does her teacher do? She gives Claire more tickets. Just enough that Claire AND Chrissy were both able to get their hair colored Orange. Oh well I suppose it was just meant to be that both girls would have Orange hair when we went to run errands that day :P

Tears of joy..

So, after much talking with Lisa, the girls will be staying to at least finish off the school year. I was thinking part of the problem was that Chrissy was getting bored. I was not super prepared for them, so I did not have anything for them to play with. I had planned on getting them a dollhouse for Christmas, but figured what the hell, why not get it now? So I did... Last night I got the dollhouse and put it in the car. It was dark out so I just covered it. Claire saw the box, and they guessed it was a dollhouse and I told them no and turned up the music. Well after they went to sleep I hid it in my room. Sure enough, after school when I picked them up they asked what happened to the box. (I suppose they were too tired to think about it this morning, being we were up til 10:15 doing homework :[ ) Anyway, while they were at school, I set up the whole house and the furniture. When they got home I got ready with my camera and called them into the room........ and this was THE REACTION. the most priceless reaction ever!!! I almost cried, I teared up but held back, I dont think the girls would understand....

Apparantly Sugar was very excited as well......!

Sad Face.

So last night Chrissy told me she wants to go home to her mom. It makes me sad, I was very ecxited to have them staying with me, but I am not going to beg her to stay if she does not want to. Claire on the other hand is perfectly happy. She LOVES her new school, adores her teacher and has already made friends. She also loves going to our church and has made a best friend there... Jamie. (not me, a 7yr old Jamie-I call her little Jamie) and a playdate is in the works...... BUT the problem is, I think Lisa wants to take her if she is going to take Chrissy. Claire is going to be DEVASTATED if she has to leave. and I know this because I had a very long talk with both girls trying to figure out what they wanted to do. I made sure to talk to them about being apart. Both girls were perfectly fine with it, which I do admit surprised me. I think Claire just really does not want to have to switch schools again this year, which is completely understandable. This is the second school this semester already. :( I feel bad, I want her to stay, I completely understand why she wants to stay.. I WAS that little girl that was constantly having to switch schools way back when, and trust me, middle of the year is the worst time to do it. She is already in 3rd grade the older you get the harder it is. Maybe I will talk to Lisa again, the more I write the more I remember what it was like to switch in the middle of the year, its hard. And Claire does not have a very good self-esteem, which does NOT help at all. I want to help her this year.... maybe Lisa will let me :) I will have to pray about the situation, would everyone please pray for me as well?

Two New Additions....

My nieces, Claire and Chrissy, have come to live with me! I have been their gaurdian now officially for 5 days. I am enjoying every minute of it. We have already discussed their bedroom and are impatiently patiently waiting for everything to come together. ;) I am having so much fun helping them with their homework too, they are incredibly smart little girls. As of Wed Chrissy was a little behind the other kids, by today I had her going through her 35 flashcards in just seconds!! Claire is a little behind in her multiplication, and so far throughout the weekend she has almost memorized - 0x, 1x, 2x, 3x, & 10x. (Chrissy sits and watches us and actually has memorized 0x, 1x, and 2x HAHA!)

I am also have a ton of fun dressing them up... here they are this morning before Church.. I LOVE these outfits.. and yes Chrissys is a little short.. but what can I say she is super tall for being only 6!

Halloween 2010

So before I get too far behind on my personal blog.... I wanted to fill in the details from my Halloween extravaganza! We had the church Fall Festival on Saturday, then trick or treating in M&B's neighborhood Saturday night, and trunk or treating at TWO church's on Sunday night!!! :)

Kailynn was a hoot while trick or treating, saying hello instead of trick or treat.. and sometimes just thank you. Whenever a house had a dog, she would pay more attention to the dogs, She even tried to open one persons door, and asked another if she could come in!
